A couple of weeks ago I travelled with a couple of friends to Dawson’s Falls near Ellershouse. To get to the falls take Hwy. 101 west from Halifax to the St. Croix exit and then come back to the Ellershouse area along Hwy. 1. Go through the village and then cross the bridge which goes over Hwy. 101 and take the access which parallels Hwy. 101 east. Travel for about 2 km. until you come to a woods road on the right where you can park. It is then a short 10 minute hike to the falls. However; getting to the bottom of the falls requires going down a steep decline of about 15 to 20 meters. Visiting during the Fall provides good levels of water. I have added this photo to the “Water 2” gallery.
