Today I am adding five photos to the “Birds 2” gallery. These photos were taken in the Sarasota and Venice areas of Southwest Florida in mid to late April. These images have all been taken with my new Sigma 150-500mm lense. The extra reach with this lense is really valuable when photographing birds. The lense weighs 1.78kg(4 lbs.) and takes some getting used to when hand-holding the camea. Fast shutter speeds help eliminate camera shake. When extended to 500 mm a shutter speed of approximately 1/800th of a second or faster is usually required with my Canon 50D.
